"climbing yellow lake"
Well, what a week ! After 2 trips to the ER room. I am ready for a little rest. Ironman did not go as planned. I was feeling great after the swim (1:03) I really didn't push it hard, I just wanted to feel good coming out of the swim. 167 km into the ride the heat was getting up there and I really don't remember much after that. You can read all about the accident here in the
Whistler Piques news .
So after that little bit of fun, I wanted to race the Xterra Canadian Championships here in Whistler. Maybe I would get a spot to Worlds Xterra in Kona. Well, I took the advise of my coach " Just go out there and have fun and don't push to hard"

"And their off!"
Another beautiful Sunday for racing, the race went really well for me and I made sure that I didn't push it over my limit. My heart was still beating hard and I never really felt that I was in the " red-zone" . It's sometimes fun to race for fun. I was joking all the way and thanking the vollies who were out there for a very long and hot day.
A big congratulations to Brandi Heisterman, local gal. Who came 2nd in a very strong female field
Best quote of the day was from Brandi " Trail running is so much fun ! I can't believe it "
Here I am finishing up in 27th over in Canadian Championships, not bad after a hell week.
Until next time....enjoy the dirt.
